can you but a rear end from 03 1500 under 89 k1500

im loooking to swap the rear axle on my 89 k1500 single cab shot bed for a 03 ish locker rear end wondered if anyone has the specs for each rear end cant find much or know if anyone has done it thankyou

It has been done but it does require fabrication. Also if I remember correctly the 800 rear axle is wider.

Aren't they just positioned differently? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the perches themselves are the same, they just have to be moved in or out for the swap.

I believe it is the perch location due to different placement of leafs and width of frame rails

Lol yah the perches need to be moved. I assume they're the same width etc.
