mods please move if needed. i`m wonder if anyone has changed to a different front rotor for a lug ratio change.
i have did some looking into bearings that are the same as our 2wd trucks, there seem to be a lot of choices for a swap.
now i do know that the rear will need to changed as well, but that is easy.

c1500LD (6 lug) rotors are a direct swap for later models for sure. Earlier models (88-91?) had smaller rotors I believe. Not sure what goes into that swap. Possibly just newer calipers to match the thicker rotor.

Yeah always helps when you ask a question if you let us know what year, model, etc. because it does matter.

As he said the earlier trucks - 88-91 regular cabs to be specific - have 1" thick rotors, this has a corresponding different spindle, the 6 lug rotors won't fit.

If it's an extended cab or has the optional HD brakes then it has 1.25" rotors and slightly longer spindles to accommodate them. 92-up got the bigger brakes regardless of cab style. You can directly swap 6 lug rotors from a "light duty" 2500 (7200 lb GVW) the only difference is the lug pattern. Same spindles, calipers, pads, bearings.

Of course if you have the smaller rotors you can swap spindles and rotors from the donor truck. It's been years since I had to think about it but in this case I believe you do need the calipers and pads to match, too.

it should would have. my bad!
what i`m most interested in is swapping for the smaller car lug pattern for better wheel choice. my truck is more car than truck in a lot of ways.
once again my bad on my original post.

No direct swaps for the car pattern. You could use bolt on adapters but obviously you give up clearance with the added width.

*maybe* some early B body (Caprice) stuff? Not all were 5x5, some were 5x4.75

yep the b body`s are on the list. here is just the chevy list, this was a very popular bearing in the day. before i post the list i would like to say if you going to use this list you need to make sure that the location of the outer bearing is close or the same as you have. you need to get proper bearing settings with the wheel nut, that is what i`m calling hub depth.

i haven`t stop my search yet. you can go with wilwood, they have a hub that with fit. that hub has bolt on rotor, it also comes in 3 different lug pattern 4.5x5(ford), 4.75(chevy and where i hope to be) and 5x5(what we have). the wilwood set ups are nice, but they cost more than i want to spend on this venture. i`ve have a good feeling that some of the 80`s vette and early 90`s camaro will swap i have a few more mesurments to verify that. i will keep this updated for anyone interested.

The problem with aftermarket isn't just the initial cost, but also replacement cost and availability down the road when parts wear out or get damaged. I'm sure that's already been considered though!
