Ok nothing fancy here. Just looking for some info/ guidance.

stock 350 block (638)- non roller. new bearings, gaskets, timing chain, oil pump.
new Summet 1102 cam, new gm performance lifters, springs are 100 seat 290 open .490 lift, oil shields and rotators removed, full roller rockers
newly ported and cleaned up 193 heads, vortec single groove valves.
Edelbrock 3704 intake- casting edges...etc cleaned up. stock throttle body, normal grinding mods, pod spacer, 15lb spring.
S10 shorty headers, 2.5' duel exhaust,H-pipe under the tailshaft of trans. heated o2. no cats.

I have EBL flash on its way.
I was wondering what bin file would be sufficient for start up and break in of cam?
Or should i not install EBL flash and do the break in on the stock computer?

Secondly- later on, would an adjustable fuel pressure regulator be more appropriate for tuning, or would the 15lb spring be fine?

Pics are just for fun, as i rarely see any ported tbi heads.
Any opinions on how it will run/ power amounts? 4l60E, 3.42 gears, 3200lbs truck.

Once you get the ebl you will get some bins with descriptions in the software . I would just use a stock one that closely resembles the truck and engine to get it started and broke in. I don’t remember exactly what tunes you get as it’s been a few years, but I think you’ll find one or two to get started.
I’m in the same boat as you, I’m building the engine now and already have the ebl system.

The 15# spring will be good to start but you might end up needing an adjustable one to get it dialed in later.

With that cam and those mods, I think that once you get the ebl dialed in you are going to be pretty happy with it.

It looks like you hogged out the throat, opening it up to the diameter of the valve. I did the same on my TBI heads a few years back, but the more I study the more I realize you want to keep the throat to 92% (? - I'd have to look it up) of the valve opening. Smoothing it out is okay, but you don't want to open it up or it kills low-rpm flow into the cylinders, right when you're in the torque.

I bought David Vizard's book a few months back, and it's well worth reading.

I did open the port. but only to the factory fuel atomization ridge... so probably only a bit past the 92%.

Dont forget this type of port is very different than than a straight through flow type port that most people play with, its designed to swirl half the port at certain lifts.
At low lifts the air is mostly straight through over the shortside radius- which was widened and smoothed.

How did your motor feel after the work, did you notice any differences- positive or negative?

I mimicked Charles Servedio's 3rd cut on the TBI heads.
he bench flows all the cuts. this amount of removal and design of cutting resulted in .
lift CFM
intake exhaust stock intake exhaust
10- 76 33 62 47
20 146 99 121 72
30 187 136 153 107
40 218 161 168 122
50 233 171 173 124

So its a far amount of increase of airflow througout the lift ranges compared to stock.
my edelbrock intake flows 200ish across the ports, so its a good match for the new heads and .450ish lift cam.

IIRC I started with the F_3000 bin but, that was 5 years ago

Yes, you can get an 18LB spring and, with an AFPR, set it at 15PSI to start. YMMV
