Don't assume because PO had it serviced it was done right. Could just be wrong weight oil, I've seen them with ATF, 30wt, packed with grease you name it. If you have to be quiet just to hear it then I would agree with not worrying. I've had them whine forever and I've had them give up without making a sound.
Also, if you drive the same stretch of road every day you might want to make sure its nor just road noise. Drive down a different road to see if it changes.
