Just curious how this build is coming. I intend to boost my suburban as well. I too am looking for more of a towing rig with great merging and passing abilities.

Did some mild at home porting on my heads and intake.
. Lest see. I went with a 4 bolt main summit block 650$ ( was on sale and received 80$ summit bucks) paid anther 100 to have my pistons hone exactly to the cylinder size and had few tenthousandth (.0002) taken off the mains because I upgraded to studs.
Checked everything on the motor blueprinted it and assembled. Alsmost have my 6in RCX lift in . With out it the differential would be huge problems with my cross over pipe.
Motors together Im just welding and fitting exhaust piping stuff like that . Here some picks. But this where im at I just ordered new ball joints and bushings getting ready to paint stuff like that .

There .05 valve keepers . My install height was 1.8 on my valves in new heads .The bee hives need a retainer and locator. The restrainer is .06 high and takes .06 from my 1.8 installed height . The keepers valve lock has a machined offset .05 to add .05 back to your installed height.

I would suggest checking the oil pan for leaks with a light solvent before the pan gets installed and the engine dropped in place.
