Got myself into a situation. I have a '98 K1500 that the body is in bad shape, but the frame is good and recently bought a '99 (same ext cab setup) that the body is in great shape, but the frame is rusted garbage. I've heard of the ls swap and rear axles, but haven't heard of anyone putting a '99 body on a gmt400 frame. Is it possible? I'm sure it would be a lot of work. Would probably be easier to just buy a used frame for the '99. Any thoughts?

Your 99 is the GMT800? You want drop the body and LS engine of the GMT800 into the frame of the GMT400? Never heard of the body being a direct drop-in...

Probably more work than it's worth.

I'm thinking the same way. Plus it probably wouldn't be insurable. If I don't have the '99 sold in a month I'll probably end up parting it out.
