Just bought this truck last month knowing it was ticking like crazy and it needed lifters. Bought the truck with the intentions of having a friend of mine do it but I don't think he has time . Truck has 136k on it.
So far I've gathered up a cam (in case mine is chewed up) lifters, all needed gaskets and I'm replacing the injectors and fpr while I'm there.
Has anyone that has done this have any pointers/tips for a guy that's never messed with one of these motors. I know it's important to mark the dist before I pull it, but is everything else straight forward? Fingers crossed my cam is fine and I don't have to dig into that but luck doesn't seem to go my way when it comes to stuff like this.
