Add Weight and lower the rear tire psi for a wider foot print is about the only thing I can think of. Although not having snow I wouldn't want you to wear the outer edge of your tires with a lower psi. Getting the tires siped helps too. Not sure what your winters are like tho, I'm use to massive amounts of snow and ice.
I will say having owned one 2wd truck in my life that it was way more responsive to any 4wd I've had.. More of a direct link I guess. Time to train that right foot of yours! Good luck
