while waiting for a warmer and less windy day (springtime in the Rockys) to finally pull the engine out, I'll post my parts list:

Comp Cams XR270HR-13, K-Kit upgrade, so the entire valvetrain less the pushrods, will have to measure and order those after machine work and before assy
Chevy Performance pushrod guideplates 12562369 3/8' base hole for 3/8" rod and 7/16" rocker stud
United Motor 9361 billet distributor complete from RockAuto
Accel 9043C Ceramic spark plug wire set
JBA 1823S shorty headers, yea these are for AIR systems, but $200 less than non-air, plugged the two ports with m22x1.5mm plugs
JBA 1822SY down pipes
GM oil cooler lines 15112873 & 15112872, and 15043741 2x connectors
GM AFS93 O2 forward sensors 2x
ACDelco 41-993 plugs, there is a $3 each rebate right now, so almost free
Wix 51060 oil filter
ACDelco 217-3073 FPR
Fram CA8037 air filter
ARP 135-3601 head bolts
ARP-135-6002 rod bolts

Injectors not purchased yet, talking to injector guys, but looking for a set that will support 4bar at 30#
may replace power steering lines, a lot of oil in that area, could just be the oil cooler lines, they were leaking bad, didn't really have any power steering issues, further inspection required
refresh nv4500 fluid - ACDelco 10-4119

TBD once we teardown:
amount of block and head machine work
resize rods
bearings, pistons, rings, pushrods
blueprint assy
gasket set(s)
BB tune(s)
exhaust weld up
plus any surprises along the way

Best surprises so far, is that the extraction went smooth. Didn’t snap any exhaust studs taking them out. Off to the machine shop on Tuesday. Looks like the flywheel would benefit a surface job, clutch plate probably still has 25k on it, but will replace it all now rather than later.

Elevation is a major performance hit on the motor, but you will see a huge difference when you get the BB tune. Have them remove all of the torque management, increase the timing and maybe increase the demanded shift RPMs. GM has it programmed to remove most of the timing 10deg btdc, when it gets ready to shift and when pulling a load up hills, thus loosing most of the power. Since I had a BB tune, I bought EFI live changing timing and shift points. Now pulling a trailer 7500lb at 3500ft it hardly down shifts unless you hit a big hill and then doesn't upshift until a higher rpm. Much better harder shifts & driving experience.
I would just replace the power steering lines, they are 40 years old. I just did mine since one of them was leaking. I have another leak now and need to change the oil cooler lines now.
Your changes should make that a good runner once it's complete

Not much going on, waiting on the machine shop. Should have the block cleaned, checked out, and internals measured by the end of the week. Had the flywheel surfaced .010, 30# 0280150934 injectors ordered from FiveO, changing the fluid in the NV4500.

You mean the relearn? If you 411 swap it I can. You're going to need someone with a compatible Snapon scanner. I might know a guy, fellow GMT400 enthusiast in Fountain.
