It has an input sensor and an output sensor. 2wd is next to the tail housing, 4wd has it at the tail housing of the t-case. wiring is differnt, but can be changed. Think the 4l80 has 2 more, possibly the front sensor. Not up on wiring for tranny's lol. Google should get you answer...

Personally this is a swap I would never, ever consider for any reason. You couldn't pay me enough to replace a blown 80E with a 60E, fresh rebuild or no. The 60E is complete garbage in comparison, especially considering you're putting it in a 3/4 ton truck.

Have you checked http://car-part.com/? I can't imagine that there are no 4L80Es for sale within driving distance of you in Texas... It's not like they're a rare transmission.

EDIT - I just did some Google searching and found a Zip code for Denton so I could do a look-up on car-part, there are five '91-'93 4WD 4L80Es within 300 miles of you...

I'm certainly not an expert on this, but there are lots of 4L80e around Dallas, just a 30 minute drive front Denton. Look here:

https://offerup.com/search/?q=4l80e

A lot of these seem to be from the junk yards on Loop 12 & Jefferson/Davis. I haven't been there in a while, but they apparently have lots of these GM truck/van/SUVs.

I also agree, rebuild or replace with 4L80e

I already got it to shift so im not doing another trans swap for awhile lol.

Honesty guys a 300 dollar beat up longbed chevy isn't worth the time for me at least to locate a 4l80 and stick it up in there.

I haven't had bad luck with the 4l60 or 700r4s.
Except my 92 4l60 coming out of park and reversing towards me but honestly the other reason i didnt find a 4l80e other than i couldn't find one at the time is later down the road i'm planning to do a nv4500 to my 91 and 92.

So im happy with what i got.
My 92 chevy c1500 4.11 gears with a 4l60 drives down the highway at 2500 at 65mph its been like that for 5 years yet the 4l60 handles it.
If thats not durable then idk what is.
And for any of you wondering
The 91 that had a 4l80 that i put the 60 in had
64,000 orignal miles never rolled over and its 4l80 blew up with 64.000 miles no clog filter or nothing.

It rarely drove and then i got drove for a year then wreck and then the 4l80 blew up.

I aint defending nothin lol i just prefer to get down the road then worry bout what trans is in it.

Honestly i prefer a nv4500 over a 60 or 80 i just not going to worry bout it until it gives out if i get 1 year to 2 i be ok with that
