88 s10 2.5 rwd trans swap

some one I know has a 88 s10 2.5 rwd 5 speed he wants to swap in an automatic from what I have found is that the s10 2.5 iron duke/tech 4 engine use the 60 degree fwd bell pattern is this right and will the 60 degree 700r4 work?

Yes the iron duke and the 60 degree 6 family use the same bell housing pattern. May want to do a little research on the 700r4 applications. I think the v6 vs I4 have different valve body calibrations. Shame you are not closer. I have a 700r4 from a v6 left over from my MG project that I would give to you to have it out of my barn.
