I've got a 90 rcsb silverado and it has the 5.7 . I was wondering if that tire is too much for the truck. I am not sure if the trans would hold out or not. I d not off road so it is more of a street only truck.

i wouldn't do it personally i think it would be way to much. if it were a 5-speed it wouldnt be bad because i ran 305-70-17s with no problem but that was a 5-speed

Really? The trans doesn't shift like crazy in and out of od? Any pictures of the setup?

You will want to run truck in drive for all driving except highway. I hated my 35 and 3.73 gears, od was just useless for most everyday driving. This is my experience with a 350 tbi 35s and 3.73 gears.

I had 315 75 16 Mud Grapplers and not only did the tires suck, my truck was a disaster to drive. Lost power, trans acted up, G80 didn't work with them. Never again for me. And it was a dog at the lights.

I'm running 33's (285/75/16) with stock 3.73's & if it was any more tire I'd say it would need gears. I cant imagine how much it would suck to drive a truck with 3.42's & a bigger tire than I'm running now. I'd say it wont help your tranny live if thats a concern. I'd say a 3.73 would be more ideal & bigger than a 33" tire I'd honestly look at something in the 4.xx range to help the tranny & overall improve how the truck will drive.

Yeah I ran some 4.10's with 33's on my last work truck and it wasn't bad on the low end, it could still get up and move, I once drove a truck with 33's and 3.08's talk about a dog to drive!

ive driven heavy ass 36" tsl on 3.42 and ya it was slow to take off, and hills while cruising it kicked out of od alot, but i drove with the 36s and with 35s for almost a full year and did some towing with them even, not ideal but still did it

now i have 4.56 and 35s though....
