need some advice here for my transfer case shift linkage, finally attached my front driveshaft again(been off since i did the tranny) and having some issues with the linkage now. Whenever I go into 4lo the nut on the transfer case shifter to the linkage loosens and I cant move the shifter in the truck at all(it just flops), and its now not engaging 4hi at all. It semi clicks into it but I dont think its grabbing it all the way, but the stick for it is all the way down as far as it'll go.

Is the keyed part on the linkage supposed to go in the keyed part on the stud for the shifter on it? I couldnt get that to slide over it, but maybe that's why it's all messed up.

This part here, Is it supposed to go over the rectangle part on the t-case?

The slot in the lever fits over the similarly-shaped part of the shift shaft.

If it doesn't slide over, there may be a burr or deformation that perhaps can be corrected with a hand-file.
