Np241c jumped to neutral now stuck in 4lo

Hey fellas, starting out I have a 95 k1500 350 NV4500 NP241C 180k-ish miles. I was driving back from my buddies house had cruise set about 65 climbing a slight grade when all of a sudden I heard a loud clunk, my truck lurched, and my engine tached out. I pulled over and tried 1-5 and R and it wouldn’t move. I tried shifting to 4hi and still didn’t move so I went to 4lo and it would crawl like normal. Only problem is, now it’s stuck in 4lo no matter where I pull the shifter to it’s still engaged in 4lo. I’ve done some looking and some say there’s plastic bushings in the shift fork that wear out, but no one has had my exact problem. Any idea what could have caused it to do that?

Jumping out of gear is often the plastic bushings in the shift fork. Mine used to pop out of 4HI before I had the transfer case rebuilt.

Being jammed in 4LO sounds like actual internal damage to me. Perhaps a broken shift-fork or something similar.

Sorry for the late reply. It was, in fact, my shift fork that had broken. Got my transfer case rebuilt and reinstalled
