2018 automatic steps on '95??

Hello! I've searched and couldn't find anything related to my question...so here goes:

I've got a chance to score some side steps with motors/actuators from a 2018 Silverado. I'd love to fit them to my '95 1500 XC stepside. Has anyone done this? Any insight at all? Thanks.

That would be cool, not sure how to make them automatic though, probably have to wire a relay into the door jam switch to power them up. Getting them to retract is another challenge.
