2000 GMC K2500 "Ginny"

Hello! Newbie here so bear with me.

Here is my 2000 K2500, my first ever car, bought with my own money at 16.

I named her Ginny for a few reasons.
1) I had to give her a name based on the first letter of GMC.
2) Harry Potter (duh)
3) My mother's name (she hates this thing in her driveway )

This thread is to detail the history and modifications I have done to Ginny in real time.

2014

July 28, 2014: Purchased for $1,579 at 139,000 miles
August 2014: Replaced Brake Pads
November 2014: Replaced Windshield Wipers and Power Steering Pump/Fluid

2015

January 2015: Replaced Driver Side Leaf Spring
February 2015: Replaced Radio Antenna
May 2015: Replaced Driver Side Mirror
June 2015: Added Window Drip Guards
August 2015: Replaced OEM Horn with 4-Tone Cadillac Deville Horn
October 2015: Replaced OEM Clearence Lamps with Smoked Amber LED Clearence Lamps from iJDMToy
November 2015: Replaced Headlights, Parking Lamps (by APC) and Taillights (by Spyder)
December 2015: Replaced Front Door speakers with Boss Audio speakers

2016

January 10, 2016: Single Vehicle Accident involving black ice and utility pole. Significant damage done to Driver Side bed panel, impact strip, Driver door shell, front bumper and lower control arm. (Note: No living creatures and no property were harmed)

January 11, 2016: Replaced Driver Side window, passenger side LCA
March 2016: Interior LED Light Conversion
April 2016: Blown Rear Passenger Speaker
May 17, 2016: Blown Alternator
May 19, 2016: Replaced Alternator
June 21, 2016: Replaced Windshield
June 24, 2016: Removed Factory Rear Bumper (naked truck for about a month)
July 17, 2016: Installed Flowmaster Performance Muffler
July 28, 2016: Factory Tow Hitch Delete
July 29, 2016: Installed ProEFX Steel Rollpan (18th birthday)
August 7, 2016: Installed GM 5-spoke steel wheels with Trivant Sport King A/T winter tires
October 30, 2016: Replaced Door Chime Module with Astro/Camaro module
November 7, 2016: Returned back to factory Door chime (kept blowing park lamp fuse)
November 16, 2016: Blown Radiator
November 18, 2016: Replaced Radiator, Water Pump, Cooling hoses
December 29, 2016: Replaced ATF, Transfer Case Fluid, and Rear Diff Fluid. Cleaned Throttle Body and BG clean on injectors

2017

January 12, 2017: Replaced Factory Radio with Pioneer AVIC-5200NEX, Replaced OEM Dash Panel with Metra DP-3003, Replaced front door speakers with Alpine 6.5" Speakers and Tweeters

January 5, 2016 UPDATE

The Good:
Just purchased a 99 Escalade console from a local salvage lot. It needs some TLC, but it's an easy job. It is missing the metal frame, subwoofer, amplifier, and wiring harness. Guess that's what I get for only spending $53 on it. Looking to see if the yard has the rest of the components, considering that they advertised it as a complete console assembly. If not, I guess I'll be doing some online shopping. (Pics coming soon)

The Bad:
The HVAC control unit in the dash had both of its tabs broken just in time before my double-din conversion. The unit still works, minus the hi blower (which hasn't worked since I bought it), but I guess she'll be getting a new unit for that as well. (Pics coming soon)

The tachometer suddenly stopped working properly. It still works, but is severely uncalibrated ("red-line" at ~3,200 RPM). Looking for advice on how to fix at home so I don't have to pay for someone to fix a cheap part.

Damn dude, one of these was my dream truck at 16, but I ended up with a 98 k1500 5.7 ECSB when I was 16.

First update in a long time.

I have since done three mods to my truck.

3/2017: Z56 130mph gauge cluster swap. (Pics Soon)

5/2017: Escalade console is nig-rigged into place. Needs to be refinished, but at least I know it fits.

5/2017: Successfully completed one of the most unusual modifications I think I have ever encountered. I have successfully put a stepside on a crew cab. Bought it used off an 88 with absolutely no rust. But everything has its issues. The bed was part of a project that was never finished. The Driver Side is mostly painted in undercoat , while the passenger side is all sanded down to the fiberglass. The tailgate has seen better days, and I'm swapping out my latches from my old tailgate to this one.

There she is. Pennsylvania's most bastardized vehicle in all her glory.

Does anyone have tips on how to paint the Stepside? I haven't found any reliable resources on prepping and painting the fiberglass. I want it done by July.
