1998 GMC k1500 engine swap 5.7 l

I have a 1998 5.7 vortec that seized up. I found a truck that's a 1996 with a 5.0 in it wondering if it's compatible? Any responses would be highly appreciated.

They're compatible; same dimensions/bolts in. Wait to find a 5.7. The 5.0 is gutless, IMO.
