If you want it for parts then do it. I don't see a problem with that. I would be weary about driving it as is for a DD or something. A problem could present itself over a long distance that would never have popped up on a short cruise. Also If you are picky about workmanship then you could find yourself redoing a bunch of work to have it the way it is.
I say get it, drop the motor into your sig truck, put a normal motor in the new truck (meaning stock or close to) and sell it to some one else to recover some funds. If that would be an option for you. I know i would consider that option especially if i had another motor to drop in.
