1995 Arctic Cat EXT 580 Build Thread!

Ok, so by request I am making a build thread for my snowmobile.

I bought this sled for $300 non running. Had a fire under the hood that I believe was caused by the previous owner trying to start it with ether (big no no with 2 stroke motors)

So before I could ride it I had to rewire a few things, replace throttle cables, oil and fuel lines.

upgraded rear suspension to 01 sno pro suspension (more travel, better design)

Upgraded the front suspension to 01 sno pro a arms, spindles and shocks. This is known as the AGLT mod on Arcticchat.com AG is the member that did it first and LT is Long Travel. Nets approx 13" of front travel. It also extends the track width 6" over stock. Rides on rails thru the tight twisty trails!

Do it! Its the same sled as mine just a smaller motor.

But is it a 440 or a 550 with a 440 hood?

If its a 550 you can put 580 jugs, pistons and heads on and have a 580 sled! Looks to be in good shape!
