I meant the difference in using all 400 parts vs using the 800 parts. I know I have to get a 400 pedal either way. I assumed from reading that using the 800 booster that I had to drill 1 extra hole and modify the rod from the 800 booster. Then I could bolt on the 800 master cylinder and get all the parts off the 800 and have 4 way disc brakes. I am leaning towards the 800 parts because the master and prop valve have 1/4 lines for front and back. If I do the front knuckle swap this would allow me to make new front lines and not have to use adapters on both ends, and it would push more fluid like the 800 calipers are designed to use.
The hole in the 800 rod is way bigger than the 400 pedal. My friend put an 800 setup on his 400 with a 400 pedal, I forget what he did for the rod though. You can also buy an adapter plate to keep you from having to drill that hole.
I seen where someone cut the end of a 400 hydro booster rod and put it on the end of the 800 hydro booster rod and used the 400 hydro pedal, thats what I think I"ll try.
Alright, I have ordered everything except the pedal, and one is in the junkyard. What tools should I take to remove it? I think I read it has a cover to remove and the pedal bolt is 18mm. The cover has a 15mm and a couple smaller ones. Do I need a swivel for the 18mm? Is it usually really tight?
It's good and tight alright, but I never used a swivel. In the junkyard I pulled a bunch of stuff, but I don't really recall pulling anything to swap them in my truck last September though? The nut on the other end is captured so you don't have to mess with it. Bolt goes in from the right and it's way up there.
I may have to go look on my truck tomorrow. Was curious if I needed a shallow or deep 18mm, a breaker bar, regular 1/2 ratchet, end wrench access only. I will take quite a few tools with me to get it, the guy at the junk yard won't pull anything, yet it is not a pic n pull.
