10.1 Screen Stereo

Has anyone gotten away with properly installing a 10.1 inch screen stereo ? Can't seem to find but one video on YouTube. Heigh wise it would block the AC controls but some stereos have hight adjustment. And width wise if I'm not mistaken it wouldn't block the AC vent next to the stereo.
Anyone has any pictures?

Sound man on YouTube does iPad/tablet stereos with single dins behind, this is the only one I saw for these trucks but looks really nice. Just need to relocate ac controls somewhere that makes sense.
You can then download an app that allows you to control stereo from the iPad/tablet including am/fm stations, volume, sound settings etc. he sells kits to glass into your dash.

That looks great as I’ve seen those pics on Pinterest but if I was going that route I’d send him my dash but also have him do all the other loading up of apps and what not so not to be a on going thing of asking questions. But the 10” screens I’ve seen are like the old school flip out type but are stationary but are single’ish din that rise out from base Itd look a lot like some newer nav screens that are out always on middle of the dash. Here’s a few off google just as to show but none are to be flush in the dash and have you been in a modern car with a screen in it? For me it’s too much light as it’s illuminating the cabin too much even on dimmest setting just something to think of.

I'll like to install something like an Atoto S8, double din floating screen. I've seen them installed on an NBS.

Not a fan of floating screens, they look out of place and another reason for someone to break into the truck. Sound man has the best setup I’ve seen unless you can find an older 1.5din alpine or pioneer to fill the space correctly.

Why not get a smaller screen size? What’s with need to have 10” screen ? And what type of 400 is this going into a std cab,extended cab , Tahoe ,burban? 8” screen would fill up the 1.5” din vs 7” that leaves a little space on the sides. And you’ll have problems with top of dash hitting it also I bet if not it’ll be close enough to possibly rattle against it? But to each they own!! And like SYN said just a big thing to have out there for a passer byer to want!

I hadn't thought of an 8”, that would probobly fit best. 7” seem a bit small imo. The atoto stereos have depth, height and tilt adjustmets so it wouldn't hit the dash.
I plan to install it on a 98 Sierra extended cab, automatic.

Here’s my pics of a A6 pro atoto I had to tweak some things after I had it wired up from a shop that I should’ve not gone to but I was lazy in not calling around but I also didn’t want to be shot down at every place I would’ve gone to!! Here’s my first attempt at my self made dash kit other one is at home I adjusted this one too much so it would’ve been too big a hole cut out. It’s .020 aluminum I use to cover pipe insulation at work fyi lol

Nbs have double din radio size in them mostly early ones have the 400 radio it took till 03 for them to get newer regular 800 radios yup 400’s have they qwerks when radios are involved lol
