This was my answer to getting a heavier chassis under my k1500.
We did this swap on a buddies 96 a while back. Vortec top end on a TBI short block. It runs perfectly, its just kinda weak compared to a roller cam vortec.
o2 sensor bung costs like $2. Install the header, decide where you want it, mark the header, drill a hole in said header, install o2 bung. Weld in place. Probably cost $10 max if you took the header somewhere and had one put on it.
Since im quitting my job tomorrow, im borrowing the digital camera from here and taking yall some pics this afternoon. What are they gonna do? Fire me?? Lol
Thanks, the brake light mod is where you put 1157 bulbs in the upper position of the tail lights and wire them to the brake lights, where they light up all 4 bulbs when you press the brake. Several write-ups on it on here.
You would have to measure the resistance of the 3-2 shift solenoid and the TCC solenoid to be sure. Specs for that are on post #1. All you do to change the valve body and separator plate is unhook the shift linkage, unplug the solenoids, hold the separator plate to the valve body tightly (parts...
PWM refers to the method used by the ECM to lock up the torque converter. If the trans had bosses on the side of it to mount a neutral safety switch, it did not come out of a 94. It may have been in a 94, but gm did not put it there.
I used 2 1/4" on the Camaro. Those 2" 45° bends would work perfect for that. Next time you are at a parts store, look at the exhaust stuff. Slide 2 45° bends together and you will see what i mean about it hugging the trans. Honestly it could be clamped together, but it would look like :poop:
Iv never heard of anyone doing this, just don't take the splines apart on the front shaft and you should be fine. If somehow it does end up apart, you have to line the yokes up to put it back together. Notice the relation of the yokes before you take it out.
2 45° bends from somewhere like oreilly's, and an o2 sensor bung will do the same thing the pic did. Those bent pieces are about $6 each, and the o2 sensor bung is about $2. Chop the 90° off your pipe, stick the new pieces up there, 5 mins of welding... BOOM. perfect.
