Well, all good things come to end - as they say, it is been great owning this big girl - now she will have to go - no more mending, the road conditions here are not suitable for this kind of rig, esp with a beefy 6.5TD married to a 4L60E! I take this opportunity to thank those that made this...

Ok guys - I think we got the ol girl back on the road again, the welded torque c is functioning normally, the fluid leak from the harness connector is fixed by simply lifting the connector up so it is held with it's own clips, all ok there ... all-in-all we seem to have fixed it - we hope thank...

    1994 chevy burban's K1500 Torque converter crack

We dropped the tranie - we found a hairline crack behind one of nut fixings on the TC, we welded it, my only concern is is that the unit will go out of balance? is it a common issue on these units?

    1994 chevy burban's K1500 Torque converter crack

Thanks Stu, you and many others have been very helpful on this great forum, yeah ... long expensive story with this: you right - pairing a 6.5 with a 4L60E wasn't smart I agree but the real cause was driving such heavy vehicle over speed-reducing ramps that are placed on fast Interstate...

Thanks Donald, I did that twice! the oil is dark and smelly, the level is a bit high when checked in cold and hot mode, what I am trying to figure out is if the failure is in the TC or trany? is there a test one can do to determine that?

Please help ... is my 4L80E damaged?

Thanks Schurkey, when you say dipsitck "full" you mean the "hot" band area should be about level with top of the pan? I must admit I have never been too sure about the level of fluid due to complexity of the checking process.
