    Ignition coil Question/Problems

Yea...you pay a decent amount of $ for a decent coil (supposedly) and you'd think they'd take care of you as far as getting it installed.

    Ignition coil Question/Problems

BTW, this is what the one bracket looks like: http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-10497252-Ignition-Coil-Bracket/dp/B000C9BXK0 The other side is about the same except that it doesn't have an open "C" for the bolt it's just a hole.

    Ignition coil Question/Problems

Rivets...odd...well it seems odd to me but the one side IS welded not just a riveted...I'm hoping I can make the bracket work once I get the pin/rivet out. Maybe they started as rivets, but it's welded on the one side of the rivet. No hardware came with the coil, just coil, cap and rotor.

    Ignition coil Question/Problems

Need a hand. I'm new to the 5.7tbi (it's on my '94 GMC Sierra SLE - XCSB) and have had this truck for about 2mos now. I got some things to tune it up from summit. All was going well until I went to replace the coil. My coil is sandwiched between two brackets that are connect with a pin/post...

    Help w/ sick '94

Well....it's been busy, but I had a chance to check and there's no fuel coming out of the injectors. I double checked the fuse, although I doubted it was the cause, and it's o.k. So there's a real good chance the pumps shot. Thanks SAATR for the education...I learned something. So as far as I...

    Help w/ sick '94

Thanks...that thought crossed my mind...but would running the tank dry do that to a pump? The pump got me to the gas station and then home? Thanks.

    Help w/ sick '94

So I got a '94 GMC Sierra SLE - XCSB about a month ago with ~119K on it. I've only filled it up twice. I wanted to see what kind of MPG I'm getting before I do some tune-up/maintenance on it so I was planning on running a full tank through it. Well, yesterday I ran out of gas...for two reasons...

Throttle Body Spacer: Smooth vs Swirl

O.K. sounds simple enough. I learning still, so I have a few more questions. I've heard the 350 TBI run just a little lean, does upping the pressure remedy that? What does increasing the pressure do to MPG? I assume the computer will re-learn running the engine w/ the increase fuel pressure...

Throttle Body Spacer: Smooth vs Swirl

I've heard about this before. So do I understand it right, it will increase fuel pressure? Where do you put the quarter and do you have to worry about copper/other metal issue where it's in the fuel? I don't know, would the fuel react w/ the quarter?

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

So it looks like the magnaflow 94009, which is a universal is the only option. Do you ever worry about the pipe between the manifold and that cat rusting out? Just asking as I don't want to have to get into the exhaust again in a couple of years. Thanks.

    Muffler help

Dynomax super turbos have been the recommendation I've heard for what you want. I have no personal experience yet, but I'm looking to get them for my truck.

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

I just learned that there was a rebate on the dynomax...bummer. $75 off could have really helped. I don't recall, but I think the cat welded on the intake end. Any recommendations on a good flowing, not expensive cat? Thanks again for the help.

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

Update w/ questions. I got under my truck and there seems like there is a spot or two where rust is coming through the muffler. I tapped the muffler w/ the butt of screw driver and hear rattling stuff inside. Muffler is bad, right? The interm. pipe looks like it may have rust coming through in...

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

Thanks..that's good to know. I may get a good deal from a local shop, I just need to check around. I'd still like to know of experience anyone has had with the Dynomax super turbo cat-back set up.

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

Thanks, RAGMC. I'm wondering when a shop did yours did they weld it? I've heard some say they worry about leaks if you use clamps. I looked and mine has clamps and I believe it's all factory on it. Thanks for your input.

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

Thanks...one was telling me roughly $550 (I don't think he's very hungry), but I need to talk to others still. I've always heard good about the magnaflows.

What to Do w/ Old exhaust?

I have a '94 GMC 2500 LD (ext. cab, 5.7L) that I need to replace exhaust on, I believe. The tip is rusted and the muffler looks like it may rust through in a spot or two soon. I'm wondering what you'd recommend. Now I know how you all like to trick your street trucks out, but I dont' want a lot...

    air intake tube

That is a handy link...thanks! I'm still courious about the tube that comes out of my fender, turns in front of the battery, and goes into the front wall. Do most people leave those in? I know truck a few years before mine had a plastic tube in between the two walls of the fender that they...

    air intake tube

Pictures would be nice...what about the part of the OE air intake that's the tube in front of the battery? Remove? Doesn't look that big to me. BTW...I've got a 94 2500LD.

Hard starting and occasional idle issue?

This fix will work or you can get a replacement for the pcv to tbi tube for about $4. I just replace mine because of cracked boot.
