I am an aircraft mechanic, but no, the company I work for was paid to pick up the wreckage of that cropduster.

Got bored/tired of my '98 Z71, sold my '99 Durango and upgraded to an '01 Ram 5.9L CTD. and she loves to work :D Z71 is still kickin', but I don't plan to do anything more with it other than driving it. Done quite a bit to it since I got it, quick list: Edge Juice W/ Attitude CTS 5"...

Can't resist the urge to mod it...

For the price of them they are very hard to beat. I have them slightly angled so they aim outwards towards the sides of the roads, so I can see if a pesky deer decides to show it's face.

I love the look of these trucks with flares, so I had to pick up a set. The U-pull it didn't have any flares, so I resorted to buying the eBay set for $145 shipped. Not a bad product, easy to install and fit pretty nice. It's too cold out to paint the flares, but they will be body color...

    Demolded and colormatched my truck

Looks good. Love them Cooper STT's... I loved mine on my Durango, only got 2 years out of them, though. They were terrible in the snow lol.. good for going but trying to stop is another story. What can you expect for a mud terrain though. Only got 2 years out of mine because I put 15-18k miles...

    Opinions on new rims.

I'd rock the **** out of H3 rims. Little bit of filler and some paint to get rid of the HUMMER engraving, problem solved!

    window and door lock switches.

Stock radios are a ***** to change the bulbs. You have to disassemble the face of the radio, unsolder the bulbs on the circuit board and solder new ones in place. I used to do it, I still can do it, but there really isn't much money in it anymore. You are much further ahead just replacing it...

    Cruise control...

    So lame lol

    Cruise control...

Do we have a light in the dash that shows when cruise is enabled? My truck has cruise and it works, but I don't have any light in the dash indicating it's on. Not really a big deal but I would like to replace the bulb if it has one. Truck is a '98, as well.

    Time for some body work!

Tow hooks I may pull off, sandblast and powdercoat, since I have all my own equipment for that. Not too worried about the wheel wells, I may hose them down with some simple green and powerwash them. I will be doing the engine bay so at that time I may do it. The rims look like crap too haha...

    Time for some body work!

Finally all done! Compounded, buffed, waxed and polished. Looks like a million bucks now. Only flaw now is the cab corners, which I'll fix sometime. I've got too much labor into this truck at this point and I'm lazy. I'll get them next year. All I need now is a tailgate, wheel...

    Wheel Spacers

Depends on the spacers you buy. Thin ones generally (1/8" or so) you can get away without doing anything, and that's how they come. The wider ones, typically offset the bolt pattern and come with pre-installed studs. Basically you bolt the spacers on using the stock axle studs, then bolt your...

    Time for some body work!

No worries about derailment.. I'm just glad this thread is helpful to you guys! It's hard to say what any shop would charge you. I myself would charge about $200-250 to repaint and blend the lower half of your truck, that is providing there is no real bodywork needed to be done (other than...

    Time for some body work!

Thanks guys. Yeah, new blacks tend to have pearl in them (yuck if you ask me) if I want a black vehicle I want it BLACK. No pearl in it. So doing this on something newer would be more of a hassle. Raining quite a bit lately so getting anything done is pretty much out of the question right now...

    Time for some body work!

I cut out and replace the sheetmetal. You need to cut it out, and touch up the bare "clean" metal, or use a rust converter to neutralize the rust. If you don't, there is a good chance you will be redoing it. It's hard to suggest what would be necessary on your truck, without actually seeing it...

    Time for some body work!

Haha yeah, it's amazing what you can do with basecoat/clearcoat! Got some more done on the drivers side today, got the dent popped out that was above the cab corner, just need to order the new cab corners so that I can get them in and blended Drivers side before: Friggen bug flector...

    Time for some body work!

In most cases I would never recommend blending this way, but on black I make exceptions. If you know what you are looking for you can see where I blended it, but it beats respraying the whole panel. I do have an extensive amount of body repair under my belt, most of it I learned from my father...

    Time for some body work!

Well, my '98 wasn't exactly pretty when I got it, it looked like someone walked around the truck with a crow bar and beat it in all sorts of random spots. Not only that, but she was cursed by the famous WNY rust. Cab corners are shot (Which I will be replacing soon) and both passenger side wheel...

    Would this classify as custom?

Just pulling the seats themselves will make a big difference. On my truck I didn't remove the sill plates (Screws are pretty rusted so getting them out without drilling isn't possible) the carpet just slid under those.

Every time I've purchased a vehicle I've sold it for more than I paid, so yes, I do that :P I also spend the time to fully detail them and make them look their best. Otherwise, you lose potential buyers. Couple years ago I did the same thing on a '98 Lumina LTZ, loaded car with leather and...

I use a bunch of stuff. For interior plastics, to remove the ground in marks that won't come off of doorpanels and such with a texture) I use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers found in the cleaning aisle in Wal-Mart. They work BEAUTIFULLY to clean the textured plastics. I've even found they work well on...

If I had of touched a maggot, I would have definitely threw in the towel and hauled it to the junkyard. However, everything was in there for so long there wasn't anything left for the maggots to live off of, so... It's getting MUCH better. I powerwashed the rear seat (yeah, not my ideal way...

    Would this classify as custom?

Yeah, the purple tint will be removed. I can't even properly clean the rear window because any glass cleaners (even ones safe for tint) eat the tint? I'll have it re-tinted with gray tint to match the side ext cab windows eventually.

    Would this classify as custom?

Yeah, with as much water as I sprayed on the carpet it would never have dried if I did it in the truck, not to mention the electronics and such.. I was hitting it with a full 1500psi from my pressure washer at about 1-2"... :P
