    Rawhide and The Burb

I would for sure grab a ratchet and take the belt off, then slowly spin each component by itself before replacing any parts. The noises from mine were the alternator. It was fairly new and never caused problems, just noisy.

    Abs delete problems

On my k2500, the newer style master cylinder made the pedal feel better, but it does take a bit more leg pressure to brake. A BIT more. It does not push through the brakes at all, and my brakes seem to work as good or better than OEM. Maybe the 1/2 vs 3/4 ton brake differences make the...

    "Factory turbo setup for SBC"

Somebody wanted it, as it is sold.

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

On a lighter note - even though I have never been a big Monte Carlo fan, every time that I see yours, I feel the urge to do a burnout...

    3500 tow rig

I suspect that you already know the answers and are just looking for opinions on this stuff, or you are a troll, trying to get people to start arguing for entertainment... The 5.7/4l80e/4.1 (headers and a tune) in my '99 k2500 does pretty well while towing, but I have spent years tweaking this...

Curious if anyone else had this issue....

I do so much dumb stuff that I actually keep track of it in a notebook, and I study that ****** when trying to fix stuff.

    Towing Long Distance

The only thing about this trip that surprised me is that the e brake still works on that old Ford.

    TBI, Vortec, 6.5…. or LS?

If I were gonna make a change, I'd do something like a twin turbo'd 4.8 LS. If not that adventurous, then a used vortec 7.4.

    Factory foam in cab corners

This ended up being a problem for me, and I ended up putting foam back in that area. If anybody that is considering doing this is worried about noise...

    99 L29 454 build

My experience with BB is that after 1 or 2 send backs for adjustments, they seem to quit really adjusting stuff and just send it back to you without telling you much. If you can get somebody like supercharged to help, that will probably get you THERE sooner.

    Cat or no Cat?

I run my K2500 without cats. Not due to thinking that the cats cause a performance loss, it is just to keep it as simple as possible. As far as the air pollution created without cats - unless we can find a way to eliminate the constant wildfire smoke, it probably doesn't matter.

    Engine swap for towing

I tow a 24' toy hauler camper all over with a 350/4l80e/4.10's. Being a toy hauler, the camper seems heavier than most. I added jba shorty headers, it has true duals, BB tune. It actually does really well if you keep it in the 2700-4500 rpm range. I have seen 100 mph while towing that...

    Combine: 1. Suburban: 0

You are welcome. Most people love the GMT 800's, so I may have just had bad luck.

    Combine: 1. Suburban: 0

Crank no start got me once, transmission wasn't getting info from ecm once, another time was a wiring issue that stopped (maybe) the crank sensor from giving a signal. All of these issues were fixed by local shops, as they happened on the road - so I had to rely on what the local mechanic said...

    Combine: 1. Suburban: 0

We used to use an '06 Tahoe as our RV tow'er. That thing was perfect. No rust, rode nice, comfy. Sadly - it had constant electrical issues and left us stranded several times while way far away from home. Hopefully you have better luck.

    Combine: 1. Suburban: 0

If not paying attention is an issue, I might choose a newer vehicle that can do its own braking with lots of airbags. My wife drives a newer Expedition, cause she thinks that she is a great multi-tasker...

    Trailblazer seats in gmt400?

This is what I am going to do. I was able to mount the drivers seat track forward so that you have the seat adjusted most of the way back while driving. I did the opposite with the passenger seat, mounted the tracks as far back as possible. When driving, the passenger will adjust the seat...

    Trailblazer seats in gmt400?

Thanks, but after posting this thread I went to the local yard and sat in a bunch of different vehicles. That made my mind up that these seats are what I wanted. Part of the reason that I am cutting/welding the OEM lowers is so that the passenger side can slide forward similar to OEM. We have...
