Where to tap in to wire aux equipment.

I used one of these Rockford post extenders just to have somewhere to tap off the stock battery cable at the battery since the post is so small. Just push out the tiny little old screw and pop this in. I would use this plus a fuse box but Im only running trailer brakes sometimes a light bar and...

Well I guess if it sits, that means less klicks going on the clock. I have an interview Friday so maybe that'll let me take it to a shop to have the trans, sloppy steering, and possibly valve seals quoted. Or at least give me an idea of what needs doing. my moms boss has a shop with a lift and...

I used flat black Tremclad rust paint. Skimmed over it with a wire wheel just to get rid of the rust and bondo and sprayed it right on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not much to report. Picked up a set of 235/85/16 tires and steelie rims for free. The tires are probably rotten from sitting in a yard for years but still, free stuff right? The insurance on the truck is expired and I dont feel like re-insuring it so it'll sit once again. I feel Ill need to...

That grille looks gaudy as hell. But at least you painted the stuff, I cant stand when people leave the whole truck black with that stuff. Personally Id only ever do rockers, the bed and maybe flares. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey thanks for the info! Yeah I figured they were gonna be pretty hard to find. Im considering making my own at this point. And thats super good to know about the lights, I figured tons of stuff still used them, glad they arent phased out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oot and aboot today. Washed the truck so I could get the bug cakes off the grille and the nasty stuff out of the canopy. Probably the cleanest Ive seen the truck. I think the spot with the best/untouched paint is the rear drivers side of the box haha. So anyway, took out the light bar and...

Took the tool box and remaining antenna off the truck today. Havent seen it this bare in a long time Walked around the truck and took pictures of all the little imperfections Id like to fix. Lots of little dents, dings, scratches and rust that need some light bondo and some wire wheeling...

Yup, I think Im gonna spend a little quality time with the truck this summer and do some paining and rust repair. Thanks man! I do have a fuel gauge and it used to work until some dumb*** overfilled my propane tank and now its all out of whack. I didnt really go by it anyway. I wish my dash had...

Yeah mine started to have cracks splitting up from where it was "bolted" on either side of the center. Still shocked when it finally let go haha No I havent. Where I live its hard to get any decent aftermarket anything and craigslist is a ghost town so I have to order online. I was planning...

Figure Id post in an update, havent been around the site too much lately. I had to get the hydraulic line for the clutch done at the shop after it leaked all the fluid out on my 8 hour move back home. Not much else since then until yesterday and today I've been crawling under it fixing wiring...

On a separate note, do the clutches on these trucks adjust after a bit? I got that brand new clutch kit installed and it felt really good for about a week and a half but feels like its gone back to the way it was, less the horrid grinding noise. Im not abusing the clutch at all either so it...

I havent thought of colourmatching the GMC logo but I was about to colourmatch the grille, thats why most of the chrome is gone, but I never finished it haha. Ill try some photoshop to see what the logo would look like. And thanks!

88-94 alternate to A pillar gage pod

That looks good. I was wanting to put a tach gauge there or maybe rocker switches if I got a winch. Did you make that insert out of sheet metal? I wish there were aftermarket gauges close to the moonies haha, I was considering making my own.

I also left out that my truck idled a lot; upwards of an hour a day because of how damn cold it gets up here, so 7 MPG non-highway driving and lots of idling haha.

Oh, yeah, my bad. I wasnt sure on what exactly made it a true 3/4 ton. I learn new stuff about my truck every day! Yeah its the 7200 GVW rating. 6 bolt rear end. Heres the compnine sheet if youre interested at all http://www.compnine.com/mycar.php?id=1cbfc08fd493fc4a0a3ec6affd41581c

Yeah, not great mileage but the price of propane is cheaper compared to gas up here. Nah I havent looked at any new wheels yet. Normally I have the stock steelie covers but the wheels I have now came off my dads 06 Avalanche. The PYOs would look good though!

Thanks! Im pretty certain its a true 3/4 ton. It has the 3.73 GT4 rear end in it; at least thats what compnine says. The past few months Ive been averaging 7mpg but with the new clutch it should get better.

Had the truck in the shop last week. Limped it from my work to the shop and couldnt go faster than 40km/h in 3rd gear because of all of the clutch slippage. I wore the clutch right down to the rivets which ground their way into the flywheel. So they replaced the flywheel, clutch, transmission...
