Not possible at all to my knowledge. It's all about the filament location and orientation. Look at the filament on a standard halogen, and then compare that to an HID bulb or LED module. Totally different direction of the light based on how it's emitted and reflected.
In regards to your read, interesting information. You assume alot seeing as how they even say there are a few reputable companies making hid bulbs and kits. I always research items like these before buying and typically only buy reputable, I am testing these led headlights to see if they work for me. As for making led or hid bulbs work in a factory housing, that would absolutely be possible, yes the way they illuminate may differ but they can be made to work in the same housings, take projectors for instance. Anyway most of my headlight reflectors are matte black therefore they do not reflect the light exactly as a factory housing, in fact far less than. The led bulbs I received emit light from 2 sides which is half of a halogen bulb that emits full 360. As halogen bulbs do not emit straight out neither do these. All I started this thread for was to get opinions of those who have done led conversions and what brands and did they notice any electrical load differences etc...
