Right now I'm doing a front end "restoration" on my 96 k1500 and installing a new crate motor and I'm going to be cleaning up the front end....what's the best and fastest way to clean all of this off its a lot of thick mud and grease so ill be doing a lot of scraping but otherwise what can I use to get show room clean, I'll be painting the frame after this also so it doesn't matter if it takes pant or anything off.

Yup. Spray a good degreaser on it (like Zep Purple), let it soak, and then spray it with the pressure washer. Protect your eyes at all times, and your lungs (wear a 3M respirator), as well as your skin (long gloves recommended). If you want to use something less harsh, Simple Green would work, too.

I have the cheapo Harbor Freight power washer and it works like a champ. Just make sure you have a good flow of water to it, and if you have any garbage in your hose it'll end up in the inlet screen and you need to clean it out ASAP. If your water flow stops it'll burn up the motor, but it's easy to hear and correct.

Powerwash.com has really good chemicals.

I use “red soap” don’t really know the name of it but it’s widely used in the oil field and it works amazing. Www.powerwash.com has something similar called dnb powerhouse.

Along with the powerwasher and good chemical, you'll want to scrub and agitate the cleaning detergants. Stop by your local home depot or lowes and head to the welding section, pick up one or two of the wire brushes, they are only a couple bucks each. Tough bristels, long reach, wont get gummed up. Scrub anything you can reach.
