Holy crap! I thought the spring spacing and shock spacing was different between the GMT400 and GMT800. I thought all those brackets had to cut-off, so the older-style could be welded into the correct location.

If it's an easy swap like that--no welder required--I'm amazed.

This is a 1500 Tahoe...right? Did you scrap the original 1500 calipers?

You'd need to if you installed a "nbs" master cylinder. It's not compatible with the original, low-drag calipers that 1500s and 6-lug 2500s came with.
yes i have new everything for disc set up

99-02 1500's had discs.

That's what I thought too, but I think I read on performance truck.net they said it was until 04...I don't know now.

I'll have to ask my buddy now. He's got a 03 cateye RCSB.

Sounds like OP has an SUV, so it doesn't matter in his case.

My dad's 03 K1500 ECSB has discs in the rear..
So I was wrong, I knew you couldn't get a 1500 crew cab with rear discs, but I thought 03 was the first year of them, it was actually 04.

i think the most time consuming part will be setting up the rear even in the opening of wheel well and centered on the truck and setting the angle on the yoke to be the same as transfere case.
i could not afford adjustable control arms. But like they say Work is Mans Greastest Invention to Excape Boredem

The 5.3 engine I bought for my 99 NBS swap came from a 04 Yukon XL. It had the 10 bolt 3.73/G80 and the guy was selling to me for cheap. I almost bought it, but then realized all of the bracketry had to be cut off and new brackets welded, so I passed. Around here these axles are pretty abundant.

I eventually decided to use a 2015 axle 14b/9.5"/6 lug instead; I've re-geared it to 4.10s. Will start on the swap hopefully soon. I'm starting to see those axles around here for $350...just saw one this morning for $250! That's pretty cheap for a good, strong axle. You may want to look into this if you are doing that much work for the swap. Edit: The rotors on that axle are larger, so 16" wheels won't work though using it as is...
