1993 5.7L crate motor, has been running great over last few months. 2 weeks ago "Service Engine Light came on. ODI code. Changed out IAC valve, fuel pressure regulator and filter. New temp sensor and MAF.
Have tested fuel pressure with gauge, reads 10-13 psi on dial. At first engine would start up, but when engine got warm, it would need starter fluid to restart. Changed out Ignition control module, eveything seemed fine. This morning on way to work, "Service Engine Light came on" and engine died. Would start with starter fluid, got home and read code, 15 was displayed. Code 15 is the Water Temp Sensor. Would this new sensor cause the engine to shut off when it reaches a certain temp?

This guy has a video showing the diagnostic of this code using the factory manual. Maybe it will help.

Yep, video helped out allot. Bought a better scanner from http://www.1320electronics.com/. The scanner works great and gives me real time data. Went through 2 temp sensors before I got a good one that works. Going to get 1 from GM, not BWD and the local auto parts store.
Thanks for the help.

Truck ran fine for awhile, Ignition Control Module went out again. This would the 3 one replaced in a year. So I bought an AC-Delco part that cost twice as much. I can't figure out why they and the coolant sensor keep going out. This electrical problem is really a pain. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to why they keep going out?

Heat will kill the ign module, did you put the goo down under the module, and make sure the dizzy vent holes are clean and clear of obstruction?

Ok I will clean all the grounds and check them for resistance. New problem this morning, while at idle at stop lights, engine wants to die, has a low idle and wants to shut off, oil pressure drops engine light comes on and almost cuts out. At speed everything seems fine.

Almost sounds like now your IAC is out of range. The oil pressure drop is just because the idle drops so low it's not making any pressure. Engine light should be giving another code.
