Way too much motor

To make that kind of n/a power, it would have aluminum heads, a solid roller, and more than likely dome pistons to achieve 12:1. None of that was mentioned, therefor wasn't on/in it. And he mentioned needing to get ARP studs or bolts, implying that it doesn't have either on it currently??? And...

Thanks man. I'm in no hurry, just trying to have all the parts on hand when I rip the truck apart. Probably won't be for a few weeks anyway. Lemme know when you've got a chance to take inventory.

IMO, removing ALL of the computer wiring, sensors, and the whole shebang isn't a great idea. It's already in there, so just weed out the crap that isn't needed. It's not like the ecm is a little purple elephant under the hood that everyone tries to look past. It's in the firewall, with a...

1995 TBI to Carbureted 350

Running a 4L60e tranny is easy with a carb. You have to leave the coolant temp sensor on. There's actually 2, 1 for the computer and 1 for the gauge. You also have to leave the vehicle speed sensor on the trans. Next, you have to get a HEI type distributor for it, but you should already be using...

Twin turbo 93

Here's a quick update. Getting the carb tuned took a little time, but it was worth it. The truck gets 14+ on E85, and riding in it, you'd probably never guess that it's got a carb on it. The project has had it's ups and downs though. For some reason I've been plagued with valvetrain issues...

Carb swap guys - What throttle cable and bracket?

Good choice on the bracket. Summit just rebadges name brand equipment, so you know it's good. And it looks like my Allstar. You didn't need a cable though. All you needed was the Holley throttle stud part#20-38. I have the factory cable still on my truck.

What kind of mileage do you get?

After getting my carb all sorted out, I've been getting pretty routinely 14 or more now. Not bad I guess, for using corn that is about $3.09 by me right now.

No, it won't work. And yes, it would look funny. You'd have to mini-tub for that big of a tire. If memory serves me correctly, there's roughly 14" from inside sheet metal to a rolled fender lip.

Auto Darkening Welding Helmets.. What do you have/Why do you like it?

Lincoln helmet, and Hobart gloves. Soon enough, I'll probably buy another hood. Maybe I'll try a Speedglas the next time around. No complaints with the Lincoln, just need a second helmet. One to keep at home, one to take with me. I don't remember what the part number is on the Hobart gloves, but...

Swap to carb

I weeded out all the useless crap out of my underhood harness too. I unwrapped the harness, and cut out everything that doesn't serve a purpose anymore. It's way cleaner looking now.
