God you guys make me wish I could go to a class for this stuff.

Picked up some Adam's detailing stuff at a swap meet last weekend.

-All purpose cleaner
-Tire shine
-Invisible undercarriage spray

Didn't get to try any of them yet, was gonna use them on my dad's Nova for my girlfriend's prom tonight but I just don't have time to be religious with it like I normally would.

Next up is the exterior of my dad's Ridgeline. My girlfriend and I did what I think is a professional detailing job on the inside for him for Christmas (smoker and last time it was done was cleaned out was June 2012). He's had it since 2009 and it's never been clay barred or even waxed for that matter since he's had it. Have a feeling it needs a pro job done.
Those are some good pick ups. The all purpose cleaner is awesome. So awesome, I can run though a whole bottle in one car [emoji1] so now I just use purple power and dawn dish soap with water. Their tire shine is my favorite out of the several I've tried, the best in my experience. Under carriage spray? Meh. It's ok. Wouldn't use it anything that touches a dirt or gravel road, or sees a lot of driving at all really. It works well for stuff that sits in a garage, kinda dyes it back to black.

6" pad is correct!

Lol it just takes time, If you want to lean to buff and wet sand just goto the JY and pick up a ********* hood and start messing it up with buffers. You wont learn untill you burn paint. It really helps you understand and get a feel for how far is to far.

And if you really want to learn how far is to far, start wet sanding with 2000 grit on your own truck until you notice, "Hey, this isn't buffing out...." (Don't look to close at mine haha)
Wet sanding is seriously easy. I started out wet sanding freshly painted cars in a body shop. It's really easy to pick up, and the results you get from wet sanding and buffing are more satisfying IMO, than any other part of detailing.

Couple pics of the Mercedes from yesterday. Washed twice, clay barred, polished, sealed, waxed and a glaze to top it off. The hood had a billion swirls and quite a few scratches, everything else was decent.

I really enjoy red paint. I agree that it can be a pain, this particular shade made it really hard to see any left over residue from everything that was applied. I probably walked around it half a dozen times wiping away excess haha

Another question for you gurus. Looked at an '08 Ram Laramie today that I might buy. Dealership had it "detailed" aka let a bunch of 3rd graders spray chemicals and scrub stuff. Didn't look good and I'll probably end up re-doing it if I buy it. Truck was a smoker vehicle. Not heavy but there's a slight odor there. Is there any good sprays (I'm well aware of those Ozone generators but can't afford it) that will mask the odor and not leave a super strong smell?

I run black ice air fresheners in my truck now and from work know what they smell like with cigarette smoke :puke: so I don't want to just toss them in right away.

i use these special Oder bombs that are chlorine based and take about 8 house to do the job. I get them from my supplier, cant recall the brand but i will try and find them online.

You guys do some damn nice work. Lots of nice detail jobs in here.

I'll have to get some before/afters of my STS-V. Been working on it the last few days, got about 12 hours into it so far. Looking forward to laying down some 22PLE VXPro tomorrow, first time using it.
