Also, depending on your mileage, you may want to go ahead and replace the lifters. High mileage plus higher lobe lift plus higher spring pressures is a recipe for lifter collapse or roller bearing failure. If a roller fails, it will take the cam with it, so be mindful of that when you're making your modifications.

can you get to much airflow to the engine? my buddy said his air system he has is giving his engine to much air, causing it to miss on idle, yet i see trucks with open element air systems. its a 92 350tbi. i just sold his a throttle body spacer and injector pod spacer.

My '99 has 168k miles on it and is running great except for oil consumption. I'm having to add a quart every 1k miles or so. The exhaust doesn't seem to be black or out of the ordinary. Thoughts?

I have a 88 gmc Sierra 2wd, standard trans, 4.3l tbi. Recently bought a 90 gmc Sierra with a 5.7 tbi automatic. I already have my 4.3 and trans removed and am planning on putting the standard trans on the 5.7. Bought a new clutch kit, and it was brought up to me by someone that the 350 flexplate (flywheel) won't work where it was auto (torque converter), but I am told the 4.3 flywheel (standard trans) I can use on the 350 and bolt my 350 clutch kit to it, and was told to use my 4.3 starter. Has anyone ever done this and maybe set me straight or give me a few pointers here, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brandon
