I'm sorry but those spiral reflector bumper lights look horribly out of place on our trucks. You can get some that actually match the headlights for around $20 on ebay.

Other than that, it's looking great.

Looking good from the last page i see here need to look through the other pages. Looks like a california meet is in order. Did your truck get fresh paint? Looks like it. Looks good i wanna do those head lights and black out tails and third break light. Do you know how to swap the leds in dash?

Thanks man. Yeah, it got fresh paint in 2010, then the front got repainted the beginning of this year after the accident. Looks much better now, especially the hood. I need to do a good polish and wax job on it, but I've been working a lot on the weekends, so it's been kind of tough.

This thread has everything you will ever need to know about the LED swap. http://www.gmt400.com/forum/showthread.php?116-LED-Gauge-Install

Yeah, I see what you mean, but it just doesn't make enough of a difference to me to cause me to change them, at least not right now. The only time you can tell the reflectors are different is if you look at them straight on from that level, and it's low to the ground. I actually never noticed that before.

Besides, I have a few more projects coming up that are my focus right now. :evillol:

So a little update to this thread, it's always a pain in the butt with my job. Either I'm working a ton, and making good money, but have no time for mods, or I'm never working and have no money for mods. lol.

Anyways, a few things on the chopping block in the next couple weeks.

First up, I'm almost done doing the research to do my own minor painting projects. I have a roof rack and W/T rear bumper to colormatch and put on. After that, the exterior should me 98% done. I also need to repaint my wipers, mirrors, and rear pillars, but that's not high on my list right now.

Second, I bought the steel to fab up my fog light brackets. I've already done some quick measuring, now I just need to do the final measurements for precision and then get to cutting, drilling, and welding. :rocking:

Third, I have a few little things to take care of, Aztek needles, underhood storage box, a center cap that fell off, and a blown speaker in my pass. front door are the main ones.

Fourth, I'm finally sick and tired of getting 10 mpg. I'm going to be ordering a new Mallory fuel pressure regulator. Then I'm going to move where my fuel pressure gauge is, so it's easier to read. Then, some Magnecor wires, MSD coil, and new cap and rotor to take care of the ignition system. After that, an ALDL cable and TTS DataMaster so I can start datalogging and eventually send the info to Wester's to get this thing tuned and running in top shape.

Lastly, and this one kind of hurts. I'm spending more money on the truck than I wanted to with this one, but you'll understand why. I'll post a pic when I get it, in the mean time, you'll have to be happy with seeing progress pics from these updates. Don't want to give away the surprise just yet! :secret:

Nice Plans Bro. I still think she needs a mild drop  2/2 :)

Eh, I'm not going to say no, but there aren't plans right now to drop it. Haven't even started research in that area yet. Heck, I haven't even gotten my rear sway bar ordered yet.......I need a better job with more regular hours. Applied for one this past week, could be promising.

My main concern is keeping the ride quality, but I also want it to handle better than a dump truck (which is kind of how it is now). I'd probably be checking your threads and a few other guys that have dropped theirs for recommendations, but like I said, that's far down the road.

Have you gotten your colormatched bumpers yet?

CRAP!!!! :banghead:

So I'm HOPING that this is just a maintenance thing I need to take care of. My Whipple instructions say to grease the bearings every 50-75k miles. It was just fine when I got it, almost 8k miles ago.

Started the truck today, and the rear bearings sounded like they were screaming. Shut it off immediately. I'm hoping I can just add in a zerks fitting and grease them and be good to go. Really don't want to spend the money and time to take this thing off and replace the bearings. From what I've seen, they would probably run me $80-$100 at least.

Still working on my other projects, just hard to find time right now, and hit a couple holdups with getting some of them completed, but it shouldn't take too long to get some of them knocked out. Stay tuned.

And I should be getting a large package in the mail next Monday. Here's a hint, it's about 43"x16"x12", and weighs around 40-50 lbs. That's all I'm going to say. :secret:

I have a few questions about the whipple super charger. Mostly is it worth the cash!? Also how hard was the install, and does it require special tuning to the PCM?

I would say yes, definitely worth the cost. Just make sure you get a complete and well-maintained unit. Rebuilds are expensive.

Just to give you an idea, I might have to replace 2 rear bearings in this, and that would run as much as $120 for just the bearings! But they're also supposed to last 75k miles, so it's not that bad.

Definitely added more power to this old truck. The low-end torque is amazing, and I still have it at mild boost. For just the power increase right now, you could do cheaper mods and get the same power, but superchargers have the ability to "grow" with more boost and whatnot that makes them worth it.

It was an OK install. The instructions were a little tough at times, but I got lots of help from other guys who have this same system on other sites. But then again, mine is a TBI, don't know how tough it would be for you vortec guys.

Same thing, it requires a custom tune, but my kit came with a custom chip made by Whipple, so that was easy. Not sure how much would be involved for you Vortec guys.

Okay thank you so much! I think I've tracked down a brand new kit that was never used but we will see! The guy only wants $1300.00 plus shipping. I hope this is the real deal!
