How to: Install DIC in gmt400 overhead console

the mpg an range are not correct on our trucks because it's calibrated for a blazer with a 4.3. My mpg reads low an with a full tank the range only reads about 280 miles.

This is a neat thing to have, but you need to know that before putting all the work in to install it....

The Range goes my fuel level and current average MPG. My MPG display is off by ~1 mpg.

Ya but I think it uses the s series tank capacity to, which is 19 gals, not 26...

Ya it has to mine mpg reads 15 an with 19 gals that gives you a 285 mile range....

I have a 97 k1500, and i am interested in this DIC control. My truck has the console already and a mirror with compass/dim already. Do you have any DIC with the mpg features? How does the metric feature work? Could I splice into the mirrors compass?

No need to splice into the compass the long console DIC's from the blazers have the compass inside the unit.

Metric feature works just like the standard setting.

If you are interested in getting one I think I have a couple out in the garage still I would have to check tomorrow night when I get home from work.

the range feature won't work on your 97. Everything else will though, it will just be off by about 1 mpg.....

i was going to but never did as i would get stuck installing it for him in his s10 and just wasn't feeling it

Ah gotcha

mine is pretty well right on with the mpgs, mabye 1/4mpg out but thats likley my rough numbers, I would like to believe it reads 3-5mpg low though
