Pulled up to a red light in my truck headed to get my son from daycare and this hot lady in a new red corvette pulls up next to me and rolls her window down and says I love you truck. I was like thanks! Your car is beautiful she was like I’ve got a 95 like yours and I love it. I asked her if the corvette was a 2023 because it looked so good she said it was a 2020 but she has a new one on order. She was like I just I love your truck I said I love it too and the light turned green hahaha

Not much better compliment than that! Someone driving a new bad ass corvette wants to compliment my truck. Made my day! And she was a smoke show on top of it! I was just cheesing the whole rest of the way to and from daycare.

Found this in the yard today, thought it went to the crusher a long time ago. It was complete last time I saw it about 2 or 3 years ago, someone pulled the NV4500 and T-case. I had planned on doing that myself but someone beat me to it. It's an oddball, 350, 5-speed, full float with 4.10s and no limited slip. She's rotten though, frames rusted through in 4 or 5 places.

Man, I am just so jealous of you guys being able to just cruise into parts yard and go through a selection of wrecks to salvage parts from. I would be there every weekend looking for parts to upgrade with. We have absolutely nothing as far as US vehicles go unless we find an importer and pay huge money.

This was the second yard me and my buddy hit today, it's definitely something I never thought about taking for granted! Usually on a good day me and my friend will hit 3 to 4 small local yards or one big pull a part and a small yard.

Back in the day, that was a fun day for me and Dad, to hit all 3 of the pick your part yards in Houston. This was probably 15-20 years ago, when they had lots of square body trucks and starting to get 400s. And lots of good cars too, first generation Monte Carlos and good GM stuff. I got a '65 Riviera tilt column one day.... We also pulled a square body era full floating rear axle, took 4 of us to get that beast out of the truck and into the bed of our truck. He was gonna put it in a square Burb and then we bought a whole 2500 Burb....

This is one of many beautiful trucks I saw at Roundup (I pulled these shots from a video as I couldn't get pictures of everything cool up there!) This truck is like my GMC except mine is a long bed, and this is similar to the paint scheme I was going to use. I'm currently planning on going with a dark teal green, and light brown interior. There were many of this era GMC there, including 2 Suburbans!
I saw the Monte yesterday at Walmart, looked really sharp, it's actually very dark green metallic and not black.

ditto, it's probably a bit better in my part of BC, CDN, but no comparision to the US "yards" ......
Around here, they've all just changed to scrap metal dealers, sad.
