On my newer trucks with LS engines I use WIX 57045 oil filters. They are twice the size of the stock filters. I also machined a new threaded boss with the same M22 threads to use this same filter on my 91 K1500. It is almost the same size filter that originally came on my 350. So now I can order them from rock auto for 3 trucks. I use a 51794 two quart filter on my 454SS and my two 6.5 Diesel engines.
That filter is a beast.. 4-13/16" long; but with those metric threads it's a no-go for my 2006 LQ9. What LS engines are you using it on? Not that I put a ton of faith in OReally's online compatibility chart but it just shows a bunch of Mopar stuff.

Maybe a typo on the part #?

I use them on my wife’s 2014 Tahoe with the 5.3. Also on my 2018 2500HD with a 6.0. They work well with No issues.

When I sent Blackstone a sample of my oil (Valvoline VR1 Racing 10w-30 conv) it had 3,720 miles on it. It started with a TBN of 8.0. After the miles put on it it had only dropped to 6.2. Anything above 1 is good to go. Also using a Mobil 1 Extended Perf. filter

No reason any decent oil today cannot go at min 10k miles.
I was very disheartened by the handful of videos on YouTube that show what's inside of Mobile 1 oil filters. They show/compare several different brands. I was a fan of Mobile 1 (still like the oil) until I saw that the filters are not as good as SuperTech (Wally world stuff that I EXPECTED to be junk). The SuperTech is nearly identical to Wix.

There's about five companies that MAKE oil filters; and three hundred that contract with them to provide custom-labeled, custom-packaged product.

Far as I know, Wix "makes" oil filters, as does Baldwin. Wix provides--or provided--filters for NAPA and CarQuest, among others. I don't know much about Baldwin.

Champion Labs is one of the suppliers for the hundreds of other brand names. And they've got more than one "grade" of filter--the old "good/better/best" system. A "best" version of a Champion oil filter is a reasonable product. I don't want the "good" one, though.

I was pretty disappointed when I saw expensive K&N oil filters that were made in China.

Wix is part of Mann-Hummel now. I think they got Purolator a few years ago.

I bought a Baldwin for my LeSabre but haven't' used it yet.

I've actually been buying Champion Labs branded filters from time to time. I used them on my Saturn, and I've got a few for my truck although the ones I got for the truck are branded Lubriguard, but I just ordered them as Chamopin Labs, I think. They're E-core filters. I think they're the same as the AC Delco filters.... or very close.

When E-core filters first came out, I hated them and swtiched from AC to Purolator, then Purolator made Qauker State filters from Menards. In the mean time, the E-core filters have been revised with more support for the paper element.

I thought K&N were made by Champion Labs? Maybe they're moved that production overseas? I had a Champion Labs air filter in my Saturn and that was Made in China.

Champion Labs is based about 50 miles from me, they used to manufacture all their filters in that same town. Was a pretty good paying alternative to coal mining or truck driving for the un/semi-skilled labor pool. About 10 years ago they moved a lot of their filter manufacturing "offshore", i.e. to China.

OK, going to be the year/generation difference, then. A GMT800 would use the 13/16-16 thread.

Wix 51045 looks really close - similar physical dimensions, but with the 13/16-16 threads...though it lacks an anti-drainback valve, which the spec'd Wix 51042 for a 2006 6.0 (LQ9) has one. Hmmm.

If I'm not making a hell of a lot of sense it's been a long night.

The anti drain back valve is only important if the filter is mounted horizontal. Oil will not flow up hill with the engine off if the filter is vertical.
