285/40R22. LEXANI brand. Chosen because they offer enough sidewall to tow (good rating I guess). I knew the truck would be getting the motor installed so I ordered the wheels online from WALMART.com. I searched online and they had the best price. We already bought one to test the fit with the rims and drop. So I ordered the other FIVE tires yesterday and they arrived via FEDEX this morning at 10am! That was fast!! And that is a game changer for getting custom wheels for me!! I used to go to tire and rim shops and they would basically do the same thing, figure out what I wanted and they would order it and MARK IT UP!! NEVER AGAIN. I always try to support local shops but you can't take it out on me - the internet has destroyed the brick and mortar specialty store!!

As promised, here is the truck with the 5/7 drop on the stock 16" dually wheels. You can see the attitude has been properly adjusted with the BELLTECH 717SP drop installed. Needs to get the helper bags installed and the motor - please, please, no major issues with tranny or other systems!!! Remember, this was a freeway tow that went to auction and I bought it never running. It looked very very clean and it is a 2000, well kept and interior is better than my 2006 Dodge!!!

Question is: will the 22's tuck under the stock fenders? I don't think they will. You already told me it was not going to happen. If they don't fit, then I will keep the stock wheels on until I get the Eclipse widened fender out of Los Angeles. It feels like there is maybe an inch or so clearance between the fender and the stock wheel, so the slightly taller and wider(?) American Force with the new rubber will probably hit. I will know soon enough. When you guys do this, just keep the stock wheels and tires until you know your setup fits-

OK, that is the truth - so I will run stock or take the fenders off and widen them myself. I used to do a lot of fiberglass when I was a kid. But no place to make a huge mess, not gonna fill my garage with dust and track all that crap into my kitchen and house!!! So, guess I will call Lowboy and figure out which Eclipse fenders will be best.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANY OTHER WIDE FENDER MAKERS OUT THERE????

And while we are on the topic of wider fenders.......
What about running flares on the front? Seems like the front needs a little bit of balance to match up to the crazy rear fenders??? I think I like the fender flares on the front, it is subtle and easy - just a bolt on and color match and does not change anything - - - SAMPLES

And finally for today - what do you think about the COWL HOOD? I like the hood - but am I just turning this thing into a bolt up bunch of repop parts??? Seems too easy - too cheapo - but women put on makeup every day??? I mean, paint is just for looks...

Cant wait for more progress. As for the cowl hoods. a simple 2 inch is nice but the older i get the more I like the clean lines of the stock hood
