Got my "new" radiator put in and fired the truck up to back out of my shop to get it warmed up. Halfway out the door and the engine dies. Cranks but won't start. Long story short the ignition module was dead or a least the truck fired when I put my spare in. The first time it died the truck still had the original module in it or at least it was a genuine GM part. Two after markets have died since. The PO put an Accel coil on it. I'm thinking that could be my issue. Doesn't need extra hot spark anyway.

Any thoughts?

OH, limited lifetime warranty so it goes back to exchange for a new one!!

If you have gone through 3 ICM's I would be highly suspicious of that ACCEL coil.........

Even if two of the ICM's were aftermarket.
I have an ACCEL coil on mine with no issues but, a bad coil will take out the ICM. I've had the AC Delco 1984A for a couple years now after my cheap Spectra Premium ICM and Pertronix Flame Thrower coil, went out in less than 2,000 miles. I used Arctic MX4 thermal paste. HTH:33:

MOST aftermarket ignition coils are junk. Communist Chinese crap, and the Communist Collaborators in this country don't seem to care. Failures are epidemic.

I grab OEM coils and modules from the Treasure Yard when I see 'em.

GM GENUINE D1943A
I have the D1984A, a little more expensive though. I can't remember the difference between the 2 but, I seem to remember the 1943 was for a 6 cylinder. Rock Auto shows the 1984 for both but the 1943 isn't shown for the 4.3L. Oh well, my CRS is acting up again,

I found this with a Google search. Interesting.

D1943A is for distributors without High Energy Ignition (HEI). If your vehicle has an HEI distributor, you'll need the D1984A.
