If i use a system like fitech or holley sniper in a 95 Chevy 1500 with TBI what would i need to switch over? And can I still use my factory guages? For the transmission i was just going to use a tranny controller to eliminate the factory computer completely

I've been slowly looking into this also, I'm going to use a 5-speed so I dont know anything about the trans controller. However, for the engine side, I personally was going to go with a simple one, the fi-tech non-spark controlling model, then use a GM HEI distributor. I will need to upgrade the fuel pump to a higher PSI pump and use a carburetor intake manifold.

As far a gauges, they all should still work if you still go through the stock computer for that aspect. Again, I dont know about eliminating the stock computer for the auto trans but for the manual I believe they all should still work since your not eliminating any to use the stand alone efi system and the GM HEI has a port for the tach.

All your gauges will work. You'll need to get a tps y for your trans controller. H&m make one. If you splice into the tps sensor make sure you solder it, do not t splice. The resistance in the splice can throw off the trans controller and not shift right.

I just joined this form very excited about posting! One of the reasons why I joined, is that I'm looking at doing this also. My concern was using the f i Tech unit and the ignition aspect. sorry not to eligible on ignition systems. If we were to get a GM HEI distributor, what would control it?
