Real deciding factor is will you have to put more money into said 4k transmission or is it just a drop in kind of thing?
If it were me I would go with the transmission that is built for diesel versus the " universal" transmission. I say universal because how many things do people put it behind lol

I mean it would be a good used trans. So yeah it depends. I mean the allison is by far the more expensive option, in every fashion.
Nv4500 and call it a day. The programming is super simple too.
I actually love the NV4500 i often drive a 3500HD 454/NV4500, i just want this truck to be an automatic. I'm pretty stuck on the 4L80E/Allison right now. Expensive as they are.
