GOT EM!!!! I was so worried it was gonna snap, just kept keeping pressure on, very slowly adding more, until it finally twisted loose.

yanked the y-pipe out without cutting it, hopefully some local will by the exhaust manifolds and y-pipe, there in good shape.

Heres the headers im putting on. there Doug Thorley tri-y's. I got em barely used right after I bought the truck for $200. its the only way id ever buy these headers, the sales team at doug thorley are a bunch of arrogant assholes. thats a whole other story, lets just say if these crack, there supposed Lifetime Warranty is pretty much a fairy tale.

Finally got em in, Driver side was a pain, I was having a hell of a time getting the bolts to go in, grabbed a thick punch to manipulate the gasket a little and they started going in.

Passenger side was much easier, the rear header bolt was a pain in the ass, big hands and arms was not doing me any favors, but once that finally went in, the rest were no problem.

its too late to fire her up... im not putting that y-pipe on until i start her straight headers, im sure it'll sound like ****, but I still wanna do it. I started it with exhaust manifolds and it sounded horrible.

by the way, never tried copper gaskets, they looked very nice and came with lock washers, I didnt get these by choice... in California, these were the only 454 gaskets I could get. I couldnt get summit, jegs, or amazon to ship me big block gaskets. they were not C.A.R.B compliant (meaning no one had payed off the california mob as far as gaskets go) I had to get these special order from O'reily. couldnt believe it... dont ever move here, its not worth it, the weather aint that great!

Me and a friend drove to Escondido (San Diego) in 1972 to visit a friend that moved there right out of high school. Serious party time. I wanted to move there but I was needed by my family back home. California is way too expensive for me now. But it sure is beautiful there.

Im sure Escondido was beautiful at one time......now its a sanctuary city for Illegal Immigrants. meaning they harbor illegals. no one drives through there now and says its beautiful , I guarantee it.

That's too bad. I hate how some of these cities have gone downhill but it's happening everywhere. It's sad we're not leaving our kids a better future.

C.A.R.B California Air Resource Board, it only exist here. I could spend a day and half explaining the corruption, stupidity and the uselessness of the people who run this scam. one main thing it controls the aftermarket parts that come into this state. and if you dont go through them (pay them off) they dont let you sell or ship your parts in this state.... and this can become a huge problem.... for example my friend wanted to buy Catalytic Converters for his 2005 F150, 2 cats for each bank (4 total) there is absolutely no aftermarket cats for this truck, you are at the mercy of the ford dealership, and boy do they jam you up.... $3500.00 for a full set of catalytic converters for a 2005 F150, if you went to any other state, it wouldnt cost close to that much.... I dont wanna go into a crazy rant, it raises my blood pressure to crazy levels.... one day ill get to leave this hell hole, it will be the happiest day of my life.

I wish it was that easy, for starters, theres 4 more cars/suv then the 2 trucks....the current goals give me opportunities to move.... its gonna happen eventually.
