if an attempt to put on an oil pan failed, and the rtv sealant was already put on the gasket and the oil pan, do you have to take off all the dried rtv sealant before your next attempt with that same gasket, and if so, what is the best way to take dried rtv sealant off a rubber gasket?
whats a good way to remove gasket sealer off of a new gasket? had issues putting the oil pan on right away, and i think i need to remove the gasket sealer i put on it and dried, so i can retry it. any help would be great, or tips

@ Swims350, its a the horseshoe one i believe, it just looks a lil stubbier than a regular horseshoe, and i have purchases the dorman help a/c bypass pulley already for it and it has the six grooves i need, but what else do i have to change and what can i just plain old take out all together...

I think its for protecting the ICM from over heating or arcing....
I looked on the job diagram for replacing the timing chain on Autozone. There diagram has a timing chain tensioner and dampener. When i took everything off the timing cover on my truck there was no tensioner or dampener, so i figured they just fell off into the oilpan since the timing chain...
Have a 1990 chevy v6 262, w/5 speed transmission, I'm replacing the timing chain and i need to find new timing chain tensioner and damper. I've looked everywhere for new ones but can't find anywhere, not online or at any local stores. Does anyone know where i can find them, and i need this asap...
