If you have a reputable welding shop that's willing to do some fab work, they can make you the parts relatively cheap compared to the pre-made kits. I got a quote here locally for $600 for all the drop brackets to lift my yukon 5" and the metal they were using was almost twice as thick as the Tuff Country kits.

But the engineering wasn't there, so that is not a good plan.

You're right, I wasn't clear enough, they quoted that after deciding to copy a Tuff Country lift. But yeah, make sure a shop doesn't decide to make one up on their own....lol, that could turn out badd.
