What year will it work on?

My buddy has a 3'' body lift for his 1989 gmc k1500 its reg cab short bed just like mine. same engine and all but different tranny. My truck is a 1997...he wants to sell it to me cheap...will it work or are my body mounts different or are there more body mounts?

I would think they are the same but if you look on summits website I think they go from 88-93 and then 94-98 or so.

I think the reason they split it between 88-93 and 94-98 is because of the front bumper brackets. 94+ brackets ar a little longer because of the different design in the filler panels below the grille

I was thinking and wondering if the brackets came into play or not.

he better sell it to ya dirt cheap cause new brackets are like $85 for the front or more.

This is off topic but Bulldog those are only 33s on your truck woth a leveling kit and 3 inm body? I have a 3 inch leveling kit on mine and 33s. Lifting is kinda an addiction and I wanna lift it more I was thinkin bout 2 or 3 in body lift but I'm afraid my 285s will look small. What do you guys thinnk?

alot of guys have 285' with a body lift, it aint bad, but 3 inch leveling kit it is a waste, the stock keys will get you that much, although 3 inches is a bit much up front, causes bad angles.

I say if you got 3 inches out front and you ran a block in bac, get a 3 inch and then do 35's.
