Hi I'm new here, Ive been searching but cant find an answer.
I have a 95 Suburban that I'm gonna put a BL on and want 35s but I only have 3;42 gears. What trucks in the junkyard should I look for to find 4.10 in? Also what is the code for 4.10?
Its cheaper to find junkyard front axle then to have it regeared.

Look in the glove box for code GT 5 that's the 4.10 code and G80 is the factory locker, also GU6 is 3.42 and GT 4 is 3.73.

The RPO code for 4.10 gears is GT5

Why? Highway gas mileage?

3.42s and 32" tires end up having the same final drive ratio as 3.73 and 35s. 4.11s cause a higher top gear RPM. This will lower fuel mileage on the highway as well as make the speedo reading inaccurate. You will think you are moving faster that you actually are. That leads to ODO discrepancy. Your engine itself will have more wear due to the constant higher RPM.
