What kind of mileage do you get?

I traded my Buick Le sabre for my 1997 Silverado with 5.7 engine and 3.42 gears, so it was a BIG adjustment to the fuel mileage and budget-I needed a truck. Thusly my ongoing quest is to get Buick Le sabre economy from my Chevy or die trying. At present with K&N filter, e fan, shorty headers, duals and modest front rake, I average 17 to 18 mpg using pure gasoline. Not far from what the new trucks are averaging. Trying different tire pressures right now.

The Le sabre was rated 18/29 and I had a few mods on it. Cold air intake and exhaust work so 30+ on the hwy with wussy 2.86 gears was easy.

484.1 miles on tank, 23.626 gallons, I figured fairly close to 20.5

Everytime that engine turns over! The engine hasn't turned over in prolly 18 months
