what headlights to use with a phantom grill 88-94 or 98 style? please help

i have a 99 tahoe with the one big rectangle headlights in it.i think i heard someone tell me to use the older 88-94 headlights which are the 2 square headlights next to each other but im not sure if i heard correctly.can someone help me out and let me know the easiest way to get this grill on.the headlights i have now seem alittle bulky behind the grill

88 and 89 were the only years that had the individual sealed beams-except the work truck that had a completely different grille. From 90 on, all the head lights are the same, only the side markers and the park lamps differ. Post a pic of the grille and it should be obvious which years fit. And no, you dont want the sealed beams.

i know 94 and 96 had them. my 94 gmc had them and my bro in law 96 had them
