Just a small story to share about my GMT400. Had some 35" Buckshots on my Sierra, and headed to the local quarry to get a load of fill dirt ($20 a load, no matter how big). Being that I lived 20 miles away, I wanted to get it all it one load, so I had the foreman in a very large CAT end loader fill me up. Half of a 9 yard bucket later, I headed to the scales. Weighed in at 6,100 with two adults and 34 gallons of gas. The weight ticket said 13,200 on exit!! Not bad for an 8' bed I suppose. Took a mile to hit 3rd gear going down the road.
And the only two major towing adventures I had with my '06 besides hauling a POS '93 Rustang. Moved from El Paso, TX to NC, roughly 1,700 miles with 4,500# payload.

Had about a ton of river rock in the bed in this one.
